Movember – Globally, men die on average six years earlier than women, and for reasons that are largely preventable. We can all take action to live healthier, happier and longer lives. Thursday 18 November is International Men’s Day and November is the awareness raising month of ‘Movember’ men’s health – see https://uk.movember.com/mens-health/testicular-cancer

5 things you can do today:

Talk

If you are feeling down or not in a good headspace, reach out and talk to your friends and family. Spending time with the people that you love helps. For more information about what help and support is out there, speak to your GP.

Check on your friends

Checking in, giving your time and listening to a friend who is in need can be lifesaving.

Know how to check your testicles

You need to check your testicles regularly and know what is normal for you and what isn’t. Find out how to examine your testicles properly and if something doesn’t feel right – speak to your GP.

Be aware of prostate cancer

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men in the UK. Familiarise yourself with what it is, its symptoms and how it is diagnosed, including what the PSA test is.

Keep fit

Keep moving throughout the day. Get your heart rate up by adding more activity to your day. This could be walking up the stairs instead of taking the lift, cycling instead of driving and playing football with friends (lockdown permitting).
